Guitar Info
This magnificent little guitar is based upon a guitar made by René Lacôte circa 1832 and was referred as “la guitare à la Sagrini”. Luigi Sagrini was a famous European guitarist in the 1820’s-1830’s who wanted a guitar that could be tuned to the standard scordatura (E A d g b e’) and if needed, it could be tuned a third higher (G C f b d’ g’), this tuning would make the a “terz” guitar. This guitar can be tuned a third higher, but only if the standard tuning is at A415hz to A432hz before tuning the strings higher. This guitar must also be played with low tension nylgut strings, such as Aquila Ambra 800, or true gut strings. Never must one put steel strings on it! Unlike the original, this guitar has a slightly wider neck that is more suitable for today’s players and has Schaller Hauser tuning machines in a slotted headstock for ease of tuning. More about the Sagrini guitar can be found at https://www.digitalguitararchive.com/2023/02/the-guitar-a-la-sagrini/

If you have always wondered what the music by Sor, Giuliani or Regondi sounded like on a guitar of that era, this is the guitar for you!

SHIPPING INFORMATION

The Luthier Bench advocates for a series of precautionary steps when shipping a guitar.  We highly recommend that Sellers follow the following guidelines outlined in our Knowledge Base article:   HOW TO SHIP A GUITAR.  Important pointers like loosening the strings prior to shipping are detailed in the article.

Our shipping policy is straightforward - every domestic shipment from a USA-based Luthier to a USA-located Buyer will be charged a $150 flat fee, including $5,000 of comprehensive shipping and purchase insurance. For international shipments, our platform charges a flat fee of $350 for shipments originating in the USA to any EU address ($450 from EU workshop to USA Buyer and $250 from EU Workshop to EU Buyer), also including $5,000 of shipping and purchase insurance.  After purchasing a guitar build on our platform, our logistics team will directly reach out to the Buyer to: (1) confirm the transaction; (2) offer Buyer an array of shipping alternatives; and (3) determine desired insurance level coverage.

INSURANCE INFORMATION

The Luthier Bench provides $5,000 of comprehensive shipping & purchase insurance at no charge included in our flat rate shipping rate.  $5,000 of Shipping and Package Insurance will be automatically added to the cart and the Buyer can either accept that level of shipping insurance, or opt to increase the coverage up to $10,000.  This comprehensive shipping insurance package is provided by XCOVER Shopping & Package Guarantee which provides 24/7 online insurance claim support.  Note that this coverage provides shipping insurance in the event of either loss, damage or theft (even porch piracy). NOTE: the minimum level of $5,000 of insurance coverage is included in our flat rate shipping on all shipments, both domestic and international.
